Learning Luxembourgish & Reconnecting With Your Roots

Since 2015, Learn Luxembourgish has welcomed a large and growing number of American and Canadian students. Many come to us for the language — but along the way, they share something deeper: a desire to reconnect with their Luxembourgish roots.

For many North Americans, Luxembourg is part of their family story, even if the language and culture were lost along the way. We are here to help you rediscover both — in a clear, supportive, and beginner-friendly way.

A Personal Connection to North America

I was born and raised in Luxembourg, but in 2012 I moved to Canada with my husband and children. Living in North America has given me a deep understanding of the questions, motivations, and challenges that Americans and Canadians face when learning Luxembourgish — especially when heritage and identity are part of the journey.

Learn Luxembourgish is built specifically for English-speaking learners, with clear explanations, realistic expectations, and a supportive learning environment.

Learning Luxembourgish begins with our Learn Luxembourgish Book, the first English-language book ever written to teach the language. For many of our North American students, this book is the perfect starting point — whether you’re learning out of curiosity, heritage, or future plans. We ship all over the world, including the US.

If you plan to take an online beginner Luxembourgish course later, please order the book first, as are first two courses are based on it and expand beyond its material.

Thinking about going deeper and applying for dual citizenship? That’s where Luxembourg Legacy comes in.

Thinking About Luxembourg Citizenship?

Over the years, we noticed that many of our American and Canadian students are not only learning the language — they are also exploring Luxembourg dual citizenship through ancestry.

While Learn Luxembourgish focuses on language education, we proudly partner with Luxembourg Legacy, a trusted resource dedicated to helping North Americans navigate the citizenship process.
